"Paris: Day 03 - Interview with Aurore (BlackCat)"

___ Although the interview be published in Infotaku , Fantasymundo and OcioJoven , I decided to post here as well, since in d ichos portals do not know how long the on-line here I can file it with no problems.

___ few years ago, a server found by chance w a French author eb is Aurore called (aka BlackCat ) and although zinesters pro, his drawings were of the very best on the net. Years later, ready for my trip to Paris, I came face to face with the poster Japan Expo 2006 and see you from where ... I had drawn it! Instantly recognize his style, so it takes to write and arrange an interview. While still in full session signatures, Aurore answered our questions very nicely. Here you have the transcript, but I remind you that you can also see video here.

Introduce yourself, please. ___

My name is Aurore , I have 31 years, living in Paris and I am fond of manga for many years. After finishing the race of Applied Biology, worked as a freelance illustrator and animation. Now I do comics for the publisher Delcourt . Tell us

Poster Japan Expo.

___ Poster For Japan Expo was the organization who contacted me because they were looking for someone. I made several sketches and chose the one they liked. I specifically asked a character in kimono and also defined some colors they wanted for the schoolgirl. For background, wanted a Japanese decor, with Mount Fuji and a temple. So the resulting lineup is a mixture of everything proposed. Then I colored it, and ... it was.

What are your influences? And your favorite authors?

___ is a little difficult because the truth is that I like many co sas diff efore, many different environments. In the beginning of the manga published in French, I Gustabo an Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon . I like from combat as shônen Dragon Ball up the tricks of crappy Sailor Moon. I also like European comics. At that time, were Crisse , Hislaire , Loissel ... The truth is that I like a bit of everything. It is a kind of mixture. Graphically, the manga has inspired me and as far as page layout maybe more classic comics. For example, what am I reading now? Full Metal Alchemist , and European comics, love and Blacksad Skydoll . Barbucci , ahhh, Barbucci ... I like many things, of all genres, as shôjo shônen . Manga or European comics. Also all that is film or novel. I am inspired by things like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings .

What are your future projects?

___ I am currently completing Volume 3 of Pixie, and then sec uiré with and l 4. Also I have a proposal from the editorial Soleil to make a unique number for a series called " Bukebura ." A priori it should, if nothing unexpected happens. You never know. Then I have not know, just do not know ... or a personal project, or a script with another writer. But I take care of it next year.

Have you ever been to the Salo del Manga de Barcelona ?

___ No, but I would love to go. If you ever invite me, no problem would more. I love Barcelona , I've been twice, and it really is a super-city. Let's see if I can go back through my sleeves.

"Paris: Day 03 - Japan Expo Paris-Cinéma "

___ Go to Paris and visit an exhibition on Japan not seem very logical, but the cas uality wanted the dates of our trip coincided with the event, and as good fans at period that has to do with the country of the rising sun, we could not miss it. ___

Under the generic name Japan Expo, lurks a kind of Salo del Manga the French. Although all is said, the differences are remarkable. Not better or worse, different. ___

Upon arrival at the Parc d'expositions one was watching the much
bocabierto
edumbre of geeks queuing and fearing to visit the place sandwiched between passages of people in disguise. But once inside, the fear of becoming a faded canned sardines to discover the extent of the enclosure. It was curious to find out what they had everything controlled. The security people seemed bodyguard, always with his sunglasses and earpiece in the ear, and in the press section, four girls polyglot that you attended and provided material things so much easier when writing your article.

___ To us and we had confirmed by e-mail accreditation. Thanks to Tower , we introduce ourselves as members of Infotaku , but in reality we freelance and in this case the material would go to three different portals (Infotaku , OcioJoven and Fantasymundo ). We understand the French bakery at (ie " me a croissant and orange juice "), depended entirely on Laure agreed to be interviewed so we had to beg to also credited. The funniest thing was when one of the girls said in French press: "But of really do not understand anything, no French? "as fearing that we were kidding brew to our partner. And I, in my mental clarity, I reply:" No . And the girl looks at me and says, again in perfect French: " So why have understood and answered me? "Laure translated it and laugh a bit. Any English can understand French, which is already more difficult it is to speak. The three entered without problems, and most importantly, doing two hours of sun queue.

___ Before Press review the material and we drew a small map, we could not leave without seeing anything. Once inside, the chaos we threw the estimates for land and we had to improvise, following the scrum of people. It was especially curious fanzines section, the French love it really Curran. Some of their products were better quality than those of the stores, and amateur artists were really good. ___

After a walk of more than two hours and a thorough analysis, we decided to go to eat. We find nothing more than an off-campus cafeteria, which sold only one kind of diet packaged sandwiches, we ate one of Poulet Grilled had no more than 300kcal and a Coca-Cola which fortunately was not light (to compensate). Entering again, we expect the interview with Aurore (aka BlackCat ), the author of the poster of this issue.

___ ago several years, maybe six or seven, I'm not sure the web server staff found Aurore BlackCat . Back then, the girl was still a French zinesters, but his drawings were of the very best in network. I was struck with Galou , but I must admit, that in the coming years forgot all about them. A month ago, I came across the poster Japan Expo this year, and then I knew without a doubt, that this girl was the author. Without thinking twice, I contacted her to arrange an interview. Twist of fate. Now Aurore is the author of "Pixie " and did some questions during a plenary session of firms in the booth Delcourt. You can view the transcript and video here. ___

Before leaving, wanted to record some greetings of cosplayers for the video-interview we had to prepare, so we attacked a group of two kittens and a Captain Jack Sparrow the most realistic. The kid even moved like Johnny Depp .

___ But the best was yet to come. We called the Paris-Cinéma !, And YES, we were granted an interview with Kwang-Hyun Park-, the director of "Welcome to Dongmakgol , one of the most watched Korean films in history their country of origin and the film that swept the former Korean Film Awards. We were very lucky, despite not being credited (and is, in the mail and I explained that it was a coincidence to discover the festival and meet in Paris at that time) allowed us to interview for the Sunday 9: next day was the football World Cup final between France and Italy, and of course ... No Frenchman wanted to interview! So after Japan Expo we went to the Loire M2K, a cinema complex, divided by a canal and linked by a ferry that should take no more than 60 seconds to cross the pond. There we could see the movie for only 4 € (to see if learning festivals here, instead of lowering prices, double) and give us a break.

___
After visiting the Expo Japan, Asian film felt like a lot. And the truth is that, despite being in the original Korean (which I do not understand dad, just a few words of greetings and silly) and subtitled in French and English, understood the movie was great and absolutely brilliant. I must say, the realization is felt that this was the first film of its director (he had previously done some advertising and another short), but the story kept the charm from beginning to end and the soundtrack of my idolotrado Joe Hisaishi helped a lot. Moreover, it was a pass with presentation included director and like it or not, movies always like best when you have to charge more than four seats. ___

The pass also accompanied us Thithu , a Vietnamese friend Laure (actually French, born in France, but his parents are Vietnamese). Is a translator, so I knew English, we understood each other perfectly. Not just the language but also for his personality. Thithu was a very open and funny girl, and when they got together the three ( Isa, and she Laure ) by messing with a good plan director Welcome, well ... You did not know what to do! Go three: P

___ Dinner that night Raqulette cheese with roasted potatoes, delicious. There was a good day, travel is to discover and enjoy new experiences, without doubt, that was one of the most complete. ___

The briconsejo, I say! ... travel-advice today is not suitable for travel. Never assume anything, sometimes plans go wrong and sometimes go wrong, important thing is to learn of good and evil. Similarly, do not assume no for an answer. I laughed when I wrote the mail to Paris-Cinéma, was sure he would not answer, but thanks to the tozudería that distinguishes me, I entered a movie to my top-ten and interviewed its director. And the memory I keep it forever.

" Paris: Day 02 - The center of Paris "

__ _ pr The French eat onto, from beginning to 12pm think about filling out the crop, so little later, perhaps in the 13h went to eat something Quartier Latin (Latin Quarter).

There are ___ or
n post crêpes, crêpes I love ! So do not think much before ordering one. We found that in reality are not crêpes, but cookies, which is exactly like a pancake , but with savory ingredients and used a different flour for pasta. We ate a simple (cheese, ham, salt and pepper, tomato sauce I missed!), But was delicious. Yes, they were too big for some stomachs as ours, so we rested a while to feed the sparrows who came to our m that. Something I found interesting in Paris is that not only are pigeons, but also many sparrows and crows.

___ started to rain, in reality they were more than four drops, so we decided to seek shelter, lest it be that we had just boiled. As Shakespeare & Co. (one of the s oldest libraries Europe) was close and I would love to visit, we LLE bucks to the place. Upon entering I felt nothing special, a library ordinary. Pe ro as you deeper and deeper, the walls began to narrow, the shelves full of books and multiplied charm grew with every step. The floor was wooden, wooden walls, wooden ceiling, where you looked there were books ... what I liked. We have a good time on the top floor, there are a couple of very comfortable couches for relaxing and a window overlooking the river, so it was most relaxing. At that moment it occurred to me quite a game stupid but funny. If any of you going to Shakespeare & Co. ever could repeat it. Who knows, maybe we create a new tradition.

___ The game was easy, everyone had to take a book, open a page and point the finger at a random word. That word is the gift that you get from Shakespeare & Co. Poetic and cheap, right? A Laure came out " undemocratic," my "drink " and Isa " goddess." We should be in the English Literature section.

___ Upon leaving, we found a black cat lying on a pile of books in the store! The Pussycat be deceived. I love cats and I love books, so I tried to capture the moment with my camera. Not a great photo, but the memories will keep him with affection.

___ stopped raining. It was still hot and there was read in several blogs that you could not miss the chance to try one of the sorbet s (natural ice) of the Ile St. Louis and we decided that this was our next destination. We seek the best-known ice cream Île , called Berthillon and clawing at each ice cream from 2 to 5 euros, but the truth is that they are delicious. We ate a tangerine, a cherry and a candy with ginger. The tangerine was really good :)~ Walking around the Île , we found several galleries, but in all our freak, enter only one that exhibited (and sold) original animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars . " Geeks are not really "Star Wars , but we amused. In addition, were lithographs of "Steam Boy " numbered and signed by Katsuhiro Otomo . ___

After we walked for a couple of hours in the downtown streets. Things found on traditional Japanese shops, we passed a theater where every Friday showing "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (a great cult film that is an absolute leg of pot) and entered a couple of ancient churches . After Sena bordered stopping to admire the works of some painters and ships in the river (some bohemian personal homes, others as tourist restaurants).

___ After visiting the Bastille Square , we passed the Lidel . It's funny, I've seen this supermarket branches in Spain , London and Paris hahaha. Once home, we ate a chicken curry with cashews so good and then we had the best idea we could occur throughout the trip, write to the organization Paris-Cinéma, a film festival to be held these days in the city. The reason, in the next post;) ___

Travel-advice today is simple: every time a umbrella with you. There are tiny folding umbrella and lightweight, and although it seems silly, it'll be extremely convenient because not only can be used to protect water, but also of sunburn. Yes, yes, it does not rain in summer and for that already caps, but experience tells me that you never know where you're going to end, and after queuing for two hours in the sun ... Would pay for one!

How To Say Pay For Your Meal On A Wedding Invite

" Paris: Day 02 - Notre Damme "

___ For months not sleep so well. Parisian nights have proven to be chilly and nice. When we wake, a cat that looked like a cow s got the good morning sitting on the shelf next door. Reminded one of those cats from Ghibli films of , would Moon of "Mimi wo sumaseba ? Snooping at breakfast time, we discovered the Laure obsession for frogs. Watering in the form of a frog, frog plush, mugs with frogs, frog coasters, c to shove them aside with frogs, photos frogs ... I think waiting to kiss a frog and is transformed into a prince. Have if you're lucky, but I hope not catch her kissing a coaster in the middle of the night ¬ _ ¬ U

___ went with Laure to Hôtel de Ville, the City of Paris , that would be the beginning of our first day in the middle. We went through the Marché aux fleurs (flower market) until the zero point of Paris, a sort of star embedded in the parvis of Notre-Damme , which symbolizes the place from which measure all distances France. After looking at each other's feet on the star, we turn to discover the front of arguably the most literary cathedral that has never existed. Notre-Damme looked splendid and majestic before our eyes.

___ After rounding, discovering your backyard and several Gothic buttresses, we found a queue of people eager to climb the south tower. Half an hour later we were inside. Up early was a good idea, a little later and we would have fried for hours.

___ After rising for more than ten minutes on the narrow spiral staircases, one does not think rather than trying to catch your breath at any price, but just when you are about to take the first bocanda air, you discover Paris bird's eye view. The south tower of Notre-Damme is less than 100m, but the height is enough to make out the Eiffel Tower, the Sacre Cour of Montmartre or Seine long travel. The picture was impressive, and according to Laure could be considered even better than what we would see if they climb to the third floor of the Eiffel Tower , and that 306m is too high and does not distinguish some forms, but from Notre Damme, you enjoy the smallest detail. ___

recovered his breath, and rested while watching Paris from above, looking amused us in the gallery gargoyles chimeras. All were different, I promise, there is not an equal. The best known of all is Stygian, which certainly have seen more than a typical picture of the city or in a report 2. Then, climb more stairs, but fortunately these did not last long and end the way we expected a prize: the great bell. Upon entering the tower, I could not stop imagining Quasimodo jumping to Tarzan . Coming down again, visited the interior of the cathedral. Notre-Damme omniosa is monumental, full of roses and stone arches.

___ 's advice today is simple: if you enjoy watching, compraos binoculars. We have some little ones. Weigh nothing, are anti-reflective and very comfortable. When you enter a church you can see the prints of roses and if you're facing a good view, you can observe it in greater detail. It's really handy.

Dragonball Z Kamehasutra 2

" Paris: Day 01 - Arrival and planning "

___ Finally was day 6, we left for Paris our EasyJet flight . We bought the tickets a bit late, so do not get the OFERTON we usually find in these companies. Still, it was still cheaper than flying with Air France . ___

Personally, I love flying, but not in an airplane. I mean, I love flying in dreams, or love me if someday someone invents a blue suit with red underwear with which to fly like Superman . But not in an airplane. Me cago plane. I do not control the situation, I feel helpless I get uptight, rigid as a stick. Well, I stayed there sit, stiff and no one moves until it reaches me to my destination. Sometimes I think I should like to MA sedarme Barracus the " Team", who slept in each episode before you turn up on a plane. ___

Paris We arrived at three-peak. We stayed with Laure in Denfert-Rochereau , where you leave the OrlyBus , a bus service (very expensive indeed, 6 € per person for a journey of just 20 minutes.) That connects the airport with Paris Orly . Laure As we were informed by SMS that would be delayed a bit, we decided to eat something. We were hungry and the big "M" yellow shone around us, so we went to McDonalds . It worked great, we had little time to eat, we wanted something cheap and filling your stomach and out, so play it safe and McChicken menu (yes, it is not " McPoulet " as expected, put it in English directly ), we came in handy. Note that the taste of McPollo lifetime, there was different. How to Say ... knew less about a rat. Just kidding. Actually more like home, less synthetic (maybe here also have changed, a couple of months and not a Mac English). That itself was softer, had less flavor. ___

Just thirty minutes later, Laure entered the premises. For almost two years since we saw her, so it was nice to meet again with his blond hair and chubby cheeks always lit. She would be our host, guide and babysitter during the next twelve days. And I must say, I pretty gigs so much more than we could imagine. It's a girl as delivered. Very nice and friendly.

___ Laure is French, born in Orleans , but from small lives in Paris . He worked for a couple of years in the same department Isa, so they know quite well. Laure is a sort of Bridget Jones French (which no doubt recognize). It is also polyglot, and that's great for us coming to optimize our trip. ___

We took the subway to Châtelet, where we discovered what may be long long underground corridors of the Paris metro when you're loaded with luggage and you have to do a thousand transfers to reach Jourdain, in the neighborhood of Belleville , district XIX. Also, I found the Paris metro egg smell. Still do not know if it was a paranoia of mine, if the walls were freshly painted and if eggs instead of gasoline used as fuel.

___ We finally arrived home. Tiny, but cozy. Dining room, large room, a kitchen sink and a dwarf (such as an elevator shaft.) But the house had charm. Had one of those wooden floors that creak when you step. You got up to pee at midnight gave you the feeling of being in an old pirate ship. In addition, there were two large windows, one in the lounge and one in the room. The windows, filled with plants, not facing the street, but a quiet and sunny inner patio which protected us from the noise of the cars. This place was great, very parisien, just what I wanted, blending with the environment. Far prefrabicado hotel and tourism.

___ spent the afternoon planning over the coming days. A waltz rhythm that sounded Amélie in your CD player and with a cup of tea on the table. At the dinner, just to 20pm, ate a quick and easy to prepare. Pasta puttanesca , which sounds ugly but is very rich. Pasta can be translated as "with what you find out there (in our case: bacon, homemade basil, tomato and fetta cheese ).

___ There at 21:30 pm we decided to welcome the city, so we went to visit l'Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees them. As expected, Elysian Fields were a long wide street lined shops and lampposts, full of national flags waiting for the great World Cup final and celebrating the national holiday on July 14. It was awesome. At a glance discover that Paris is a big city, old and cared for.

___ The Arc de Triomphe shines, rather than for its architecture or in Teresa, foci that il Umina. And I mean disappointed, or try to make a cheap joke. I mean, and could learn here in Barcelona of my love, we also have bow, but duller than a candle under water. The Arc de Triomphe noted for its French corr ect ilum ination, the flame dedicated to the unknown soldier (who turns tirelessly day in and day out) and written by its pillars, where we find towns where battles were fought in France (and one not pajolera had no idea), as Tortosa, Badajoz or Valencia. Also call attention to the Japanese. Yes, yes ... seems a joke, but they were there. Under the arch. Using photo s. As always imagine.

___ Dimos a night on the Champs Elysees even had tie NDAS to ered. The most department stores or places like Virgin Megastore, where I made my first unsuccessful attempt to "search and capture" any book, unprecedented in Spain , related my favorite movie "Amelie ." ___

went home, we stuck a shower and I was loaded for the first
mere shower curtain time. I'm so clumsy, what can we do. Luxury sleep. Day noses was hot, even though not being endured humid. But at night, the freshness coming through the window, like a gentle breeze caressing and forced you to cover your still under a blanket summer.

___ Finally, I would like to enumerate some of our hobbies before a trip. For starters, I am among those who believe that a trip can be enjoyed before, mediate
you and after. That means that when you prepare discover and learn, when you enjoy what feel and when you return, the memory of what I saw saw generates good feeling of happiness you were looking for when you decided to undertake the adventure. Therefore, it is important to prepare your trip, find routes, organize, read some guidance. Consider it essential to go to the country elected without that sounds and na Chinese monuments, museums and plazas. It makes no sense to be in front of the Eiffel Tower and see it as a bunch of misplaced iron. The interesting thing is to know the story behind each item. Search the symbolism, identity. Or so I see it. For Furthermore, we usually go muuucho when we travel. What better way to know a city than walking. So it is best to always carry a bottle of water to stay hydrated, something with chocolate and nuts. It seems stupid, but staying hydrated and eating foods rich in calories as you kick, makes you take more than three Red Bull mixed with coffee. In addition, mid-afternoon, appetizing and eat or drink, and do not always have a grocery store or bar to reach your pockets nearby. So is also a good way to not spend the budget.

What Does A Bowling Glove Do For You

" Paris, j ' adore "

___ Who was going to tell me that Paris was so cool! And I mean "pretty", "romantic" or "cosmopolitan" adjectives used over and over again when someone refers to the city of light. Not so. I mean cool, nothing more. A welcoming, friendly, interesting, inspiring ... I loved it, yes sir. ___

depth has been a journey in every way.
On the one hand we have not stopped to walk in 12 days. We have covered most neighborhoods, monuments, museums and environments. Known to the French workers, students, religious and immigrants. Of all ages, all colors. We ate in restaurants, homes and parks. Standing on the Eiffel Tower , boat crossed the Seine , tour the underground metro and RER. Visited the outskirts, the many churches, buildings of architectural art nouveau and exhibitions of all kinds. It was a journey that does not complete in energy we noticed when knowing the city, its history, art and people. Comprehensive and thorough, because we ended up exhausted. ___

also had the opportunity to visit the Japan Expo and interview the author of the poster (Aurore , aka BlackCat ), attend the screening of "Welcome to Dogmakgol "festival within the Paris-Cinéma and interview its director ( Kwan-Hyun Park ), attend a surreal picnic with a group of Christians in the roof of a religious center, see World Cup final with the followers of the selection French, visit the locations of "Amélie " and find the Eiffel Tower amidst fireworks on the national holiday. Unbelievable. ___

The following days I will go up posts about the trip. We had about 1,500 pictures and some video, so be well documented and illustrated ^ _ ^ I hope you as a reference about the city and making it useful for someone to prepare your trip to the Ile de France . Before leaving I visited several blogs and it was great, so I hope to serve you to help me too. Chaud maroons them!
