Difference Between Micru Suede And Micro Fiber

" Smileys and ASCII Art: The language of the internet "

___ As we all know, the smileys or emoticons ( neologism that comes from emotion and icon), are sets of characters which are concepts that represent a state of mind. In fact, many of them are called emoticons when they are actually ASCII drawings. ___

An ASCII drawing is a representation of an image using the characters available on your keyboard (known as "ASCII Code " ). Thus, the difference between ASCII and drawing smiley emoticons would be representing concepts, moods, and ASCII drawings are graphical representations, drawings.

ASCII Picture the face of a cat.

___ Once defined, it is interesting to talk about its origins. Those who have spent some time in the network (and not talking about three or four years, but those who enter when the English network was limited to Infovía and little else), we find in the emoticon an innovative form of expression that, curious pair, we seemed the most practical. ___

Today, you can download images in seconds, minutes music, movies in hours ... But first, the simple download of an mp3 (or should remember mp2?) could lead several hours, so successfully manage the bandwidth we used was not finished as necessary to overwhelm with the slowness of the network of networks. To make matters worse, in those days there were no instant messaging programs like Messenger . In fact, everyone used the IRC , the original chat life with your commands, its canals, bots, etc. Also, speaking through a computer was the strangest thing while cold, so the invention of Scott Falhman was a good resource to quickly convey an emotion. ___

used Scott first smiley (emoticon in English) in one of the emails he sent his colleagues at Carnegie Mellon University ( Pittsburg, U.S.) September 1982 (see you where, when you born a server, especially on day 6). The character set in question was the classic ":-)" (yes, the script for a nose, which in such a short time we have lost.) Scott proposed the use of character sequences to qualify ":-(" ":-)" and written texts in an ironic sense and those who were serious.

___ Today, emoticons have evolved to the absolute limits. I do not mean to animated gifs as those included in Messenger , but sequences of more complex characters who have gone to express basic emotions (happiness and sadness) to things like winks, glances and laughter . Here I am attaching a brief table of emoticons simple that, well sure, you all know:

___
As always, the Japanese are experts in bringing anything to the limit, and emoticons would not be less. In addition, they have added characters, as well as the ASCII code (which uses the Latin alphabet alphanumeric) have two primers ( hiragana and katakana ) and kanji table. Here I include a table with several of the complex emoticons that you might find in any forum Japan (via PixelyDixel ). I put in text mode so you can copy and paste, but to see a much larger list (in English) I recommend Hiroette.com . As a curiosity, the Japanese emoticons are read normally, without being rotated.

___ As for "ASCII Art " or the art of drawing (or encouraging) using ASCII characters, you will find many web pages (ASCII Art "in English). Some people has even encouraged " Star Wars "using only ASCII characters (see" Star Wars Asciimation ). In addition, there are many programs that convert an ordinary picture (composed of pixels) in an image made from ASCII characters . The result, at least, is most curious.
