Fettuccine Mario is an Italian restaurant at the corner of San Martin and Estanislao López, or National Road 8 Km 54.3, Pilar party. Is about 3 blocks from the Pan (hand out capital), on the same street as the Shell service station. We
last night to celebrate a birthday and we had booked a table for 5. As we knew that there were many chances to park two cars and the dealership which is next on the street Estanislao López, remains closed during the night giving ample space for cars of all people. You can also park on St. Martin, and there is a gentleman in a suit that "appears" to take care of cars. It is a large brick building and the sign is unmistakable, from inside the yellow light invites you to spend. The first time I went I had him as the best restaurant around Pilar and is a statement I already received from many people. I've gone several times and definitely not for me, I'd put in a TOP 3 of the area but not at the top for various reasons I'll explain later.
Crossing double glazed door, we got a boy who already knew the old lady and her family, hence the greeting was warm and the table was listed at the moment, on the other side of the room and dodging the little space between tables of wicker painted white. The table was round, big and tall, symmetrical with the enormity of the chairs and the large distance between the back and opposite to the table, creating the feeling of "armchair" where one sits back and stooping to the comfort sins. The linen is spotless, really glad to cotton in the table, texture and roughness by preventing the napkin does not fall to the floor, the target was immaculate. The cups are not betrayed or a fingerprint or smudge of grease, glowing and covered dish for the bread to butter their respective covered the concept to become the place to be grounded again. Caught my attention for a long time the small floral center, gave greater height to the table and white flower vase next to the tin did not collapse the view when you converse with the person in front, it was just simple, right and strangely calming. The white tablecloths with brick walls red and yellow lighting displays pleased me much, because I remembered the den where my grandfather read his diary and generating a glow similar to a fireplace. The decor is based on advertisements for wine and other alcoholic beverages such as display tubes and wooden boxes that remind me more of a decoration that is behind the cafe bar in Buenos Aires and not an upscale restaurant. The bottle with apples (or pears), preserved in red wine as a decoration near the bathroom seems very bizarre and gross, hopefully someday eliminate the visual top with purple dye adds more darkness to a place not needed.
appeared suddenly a boy with 3 menus to 5 people, a classic Argentine ... hurts. The same was written by someone who is interested in the client, as it provides an amazing way of explaining the operation of the home, avoiding a conversation that the waiter takes away energy and sometimes must be repeated several times to the same table. The only drawback is that when you open a menu, to the left and right inputs desserts, then you have to open the tab below to find desserts and pasta, and across the other dishes, along with contrafrente of wine ... The menu is impeccably written but chaotically organized, definitely leaves were not organized by the person who wrote them. Without further discussion we beverages and wine, which minutes later we were told that was not available and offered a blank Ruca Malen. One of the people at the table to discuss the wine with the boy and noticed the same knowledge of the house wines from experience and not the label, something great that is rarely seen. Only three of us ask entrances, two mushroom gratin and fried mozzarella with pomodoro sauce. The mushrooms were really tasty white sauce and felt an interest in their preparation, noticed a gratin dish cooked with class. The fried mozzarella was no other world but the presentation if it was, had a triangular shape tomato sauce and a spicy felt great taking me for a moment to repent and ask the white wine to red wine screams strong. To all this the air conditioning was off and we started to notice little by little.
The main course was not difficult for me to choose, I had been wanting to try again broccoli sauce olio, only this time I asked spaghettinis spinach instead of penne rigate. The other called fettuccine with mushroom sauce and dried cream, spaghetti with seafood with pomodoro. Also the other side of the table she was tempted by the entry and main course called the mushroom gratin. Beside him also ordered tuna mayonnaise dish principal. The air conditioning is switched on and off every five minutes inexplicably leading one to think if the restaurant was skimping on electricity costs to the cost of customer comfort, while the waiter served the water in the cups so that all of us callábamos and watched the violence with which the water fell into the cup. The food arrived very quickly and with a troop of boys. My spaghettinis spinach with broccoli sauce lacked capers olio that read the menu (and who had built the last time I had gone), garlic you could tell they had not withdrawn their seed (or heart) had so little broccoli that I had to ration. That if the spaghettinis were the most delicious pasta I tested so far, texture, flavor, color, were dry and yet not stuck, I noticed he had a few tiny drops of Worcestershire sauce (Maggi brand wurtz is achieved only Jumbo), really eat those noodles compensate for the lack of air circulation. The rest of the dishes I could not try since I have no such confidence with the other members of the board. From what I could only devote myself to watch. Fettuccine with cream sauce and mushrooms were impeccable, mushrooms gratin tripled in size to that input was sought and mayonnaise with tuna ... tuna mayonnaise looks the same everywhere, from a hotel restaurant map to be prepared in an Italian restaurant. The spaghetti with seafood seafood was half bald, just dominated the scallops.
The 5 boys who brought the dishes disappeared from the scene for a long time, preventing more water could apply. Suddenly the air conditioning turned to light and noticed that the lack of discussion was not about food, but the lack of air exchange, which was not taken more as a joke.
By far we glimpse a young man and came up with a menu for each one and decide for dessert. This restaurant's desserts are a real dining experience. The elections were two champagne lemon sorbetto, bavaroise with a praline (I've tried before and it should be mandatory if you ever tried going), an apple pie with ice cream and a chocolate volcano (do not remember the specific name). While not difficult to do, sorbetto were delicious, ideal if you ordered a large meal and consistency. The bavaroise with almond praline and made me sorry for my choice of sorbetto, the Pass me my neighbor watching my little speed tasted. Apple cake looked deplorable but hid a delicious flambé with caramel decor worthy of being considered art. The chocolate volcano was struck, but the first attack were shown to be a true work of engineering, the chocolate seemed overwhelming black magma. The only alien to my request that I tried was the apple pie, the praline and had asked earlier and I remembered the taste. The volcano of chocolate is definitely unfinished business.
The overriding conclusion is that the owner of this restaurant is not aware of what happens in your facility because each time I go somewhat in quality, taste, health and effectiveness decreases. It is a magnificent and unique food in my opinion is opaque to the little police power exercised by the owner on their employees. I wish to take action on the matter. Itself is highly recommended to go to eat.
