Palo Verde is a small burger and minutes left on Avenida Santa Fe 840, Acassuso, off the roundabout in Peru that is the continuation of National Unity, or so-called Thames, bordering the San Isidro Hippodrome.
Yesterday I grabbed
a terrible craving for burgers at about 3 pm, and as I was returning from Capital in the car, I decided to make one pass through the well-known Palo Verde. Being from the area and knew beforehand that it is almost impossible to park at the roundabout from Peru and Santa Fe, except for a small little place that is always free - God knows why - just around the corner from where begins the roundabout and opposite at the door of the Gelato Bambola. Effectively and there was free parking. There is a cloth that cares cars are very polite and is NOT extortionist. In case you do not find a place, I suggest you turn around the block and park on Alfaro, between the entrance to the parking lot Coto supermarket closed and Avenue, as it is a comfortable and safe.
Upon entering, being 22:30, note that there were people as usual and a couple of free tables at the bar and the window. Obviously I chose window and instantly brought me the letter. The system is simple: burgers should be chosen separately from the drinks and fries, hamburger or steak except Palo Verde, including potatoes and a host of ingredients (fried egg, bacon, olives and the rest). In the case of hot dogs, they can be complete (ham, cheese and bacon) or blue cheese (the sauce is very smooth). There are also sweet and savory pancakes, which until now I never ate so I leave the issue open for another occasion. Another option is the day's menu, such as extra-giant breaded mashed potatoes, which included drinking. I decided on a burger without olives Palo Verde, a coke and then you hear the cry of my order in the kitchen.
The place is small to tiny, with a girl who attends, an owner in the box that is always with a smile and an incredible mess that leaves the kitchen, which is quite a sight. There will be about 12 tables at most, but those that are outside. These are of wood, cloth and decorated with a "box" plastic dressings of all types (something inevitable), tall glass to drink and a fine layer of grease on the surface due to lack of hygiene in the cloth used for cleaning. I noise is important in this place, from the kitchen to the other guests because the walls and the television is on all the way down: that is, we are in a classic neighborhood restaurant with burgers sensational.
order came in a giant bowl, where the hamburger was covered by a mountain of crispy fries and a good bit of toast sticking out the side. That delight, looked fried egg with the yolk ready to escape and half lettuce scattered everywhere due to the large amount he had. What else I can say, a meal as simple and as complex for the personal approach. The bread, the main base for any burger was very fresh and lightly toasted, finely chopped lettuce and in extreme abundance, seemed to have fried egg white of three eggs, bacon everywhere, and the rest of the ingredients also in abundance and in excellent condition. That if potatoes are great, with just cooking oil and cooked with little use. Definitely
these burgers (and loins) are not missing anything ... let them spare a lot! The place is ideal for when you're super-duper-starved and fast food. It is noteworthy that, while a fatty meal and heavy oil using fresh ingredients and young. Ojo! Palo Verde is not a place similar to the food chain Carlitos, although it seems. To my taste and discretion, is a much better place, from the burgers to the price but not in the pancakes, of course.
Palo Verde is a neighborhood restaurant, to go with friends and people you trust. Do not expect a Carlitos or cucumber, but best care, best burgers and best prices.
